About

Hi! Thanks for being here.

A little history:

In 2014, I graduated Cum Laude from Whitman College with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy. After that, I spent time at the University of Pennsylvania School of Design studying architecture, where I started learning how to code as part of my design curriculum - we were asked to create topographical landscapes using Python which we then fed to a CNC machine that 3D printed our designs. Watching code written on the computer turn into something tangible made me want to learn more, so after leaving design school, I began taking coding classes online and through community organizations in Philadelphia.

My first official coding role was a Jr Front End Developer at Urban Outfitters. There, I performed weekly marketing and sale updates on an e-commerce platform that reached up to 35 million sessions per month. I then worked up to building some major client-side features and animations, for which I primarily used vanilla JavaScript, Angular, and Bootstrap.

Recent work:

Prior to my current role, I was a Software Engineer II in the Azure division of Microsoft, which I joined after graduating from the Microsoft LEAP apprenticeship program. As a dev, I worked on the team responsible for securely collecting, processing, and analyzing all of the crash reports coming out of internal services running in Azure. As part of the analysis, we would attempt to identify and bucketize the reports based on the reason why the crash happened. We would surface these findings to the appropriate teams within Microsoft, thereby giving them insight into their service failures. I contributed to our front and backend repositories (primarily TypeScript and C#), as well as our SQL database, C++ client, telemetry and monitoring, and our on-call rotation we used to maintain the availability of our service.

Now:

These days, I’m a Technical Writer at Branch, where I own our Developer’s Hub. I also create content on cloud services and quantum computing. If you’re interested in discussing consulting work, please get in touch via my contact page.
